ServicesSeasonal Cleanup

Seasonal Cleanup in Belle Isle

We clear the leaf drop, cut back what the cold or the summer growth left behind, and reset your beds so the yard looks cared for again. You get a firm crew day, an arrival window, and a call from us if weather moves the plan.

A reset for the yard, timed to the season

Here the seasons don't announce themselves with snow, but the yard still changes on a calendar. Live oaks shed hard in late winter and spring. An occasional January freeze browns tropical plants. Then the rainy months push shrubs and groundcover into a growth spurt that buries edges and walkways by late summer.

Seasonal cleanup is a single, thorough visit that catches up on all of that at once. It suits you if your regular mowing is handled but the beds, shrubs and corners have drifted, or if you want the property ready before guests, a sale listing or the start of the wet season.

We plan these visits ahead and tell you when to expect us. If a storm line rolls through on your day, we call, reschedule to the next open slot and confirm the new window rather than leaving you guessing.

What a cleanup visit covers

Leaf and debris removal

We rake and blow leaves, oak tassels and small fallen limbs out of beds, lawn, and from under shrubs. Debris is bagged or loaded and hauled away, not piled at the curb unless you ask.

Cutbacks and shaping

Frost-damaged growth on plants like hibiscus and firebush is cut back to healthy wood once the cold risk has passed. Overgrown shrubs are shaped by hand where shears would leave a blunt, boxy finish.

Bed weeding and edging

We pull weeds by the root, cut a clean edge between turf and beds, and clear runners creeping onto walks and driveways.

Ornamental grass and perennial care

Muhly, fakahatchee and similar grasses are cut back at the right point in their cycle so new growth comes in full rather than ragged.

Final pass and walk-through

Hard surfaces are blown clean and we walk the property with you, or send photos if you aren't home, so you can see each area before we leave.

Signs the yard is ready for a cleanup

Oak leaves matting in the beds
A layer of wet leaves holds moisture against plant stems and smothers low groundcover. It also hides weeds until they're well established.
Brown, brittle growth after a cold snap
Freeze-burned foliage looks rough and can harbor pests. Cutting it back at the right time lets the plant push fresh growth in spring.
Edges that have disappeared
When St. Augustine or Bahia has crept into the beds, the clean line that made the yard look finished is gone.
Shrubs crowding windows and walkways
Summer growth can close in on paths and block light at the front of your home within a few months.
A date on the calendar
A party, a family visit or a listing photo shoot gives you a deadline. We'll book a day that lands ahead of it, with room for a weather delay.

How a cleanup day runs

  1. 1

    Walkthrough and written estimate

We visit, look at each bed and problem area, and write out what we'll do, item by item. You'll know the scope before you agree to anything.

  2. 2

A booked day and an arrival window

We set the visit for a specific day and give you a window for when the crew will pull up. The evening before, we confirm it.

  3. 3

    If the weather turns

Heavy rain makes beds muddy and turf easy to rut, so we won't push through it. We call you, offer the next open day and confirm the new window.

  4. 4

    The work itself

The crew works bed by bed, keeping equipment off soft turf and tarping debris so it doesn't scatter. Most cleanups on a typical lot finish in a single day.

  5. 5

    Haul-away and review

We load out all debris, blow off hard surfaces and go over the finished yard with you. Anything we spotted that needs separate attention goes on a short note, never added on the spot.

What shapes the price of a cleanup

A cleanup is priced on the labor and disposal your yard actually needs, so two homes on the same street can come out quite differently. We give you a written estimate after the walkthrough, and the price on it is the price for the work described.

Size and number of beds
More bed area means more weeding, edging and cutback time. A front-yard refresh is a much smaller job than the full perimeter.
How far things have grown
A yard tended a few months ago goes quickly. A season or two of overgrowth takes more hands and more hauling.
Volume of debris
Heavy oak drop or large cut material adds loads and disposal costs. Bigger limbs are better handled through tree trimming and removal.
Access to the work
Tight side yards, fenced areas and steep slopes near the water slow the crew and can change the equipment we bring.

Seasonal cleanup questions

When is the best time to book a cleanup here?
Late February through April works for most yards, after the worst oak drop and once frost risk has passed. A second visit in late summer or early fall catches the rainy-season growth. We can book either one ahead so the date is set.
Will you tell me when the crew will arrive?
Yes. You get a booked day and an arrival window, and we confirm it the evening before. If rain or a delay on an earlier job changes that, we call you rather than simply not showing up.
Does a cleanup include fresh mulch?
Not by default. Many people add it, since beds are already cleared and edged, and we can quote it on the same estimate. Our mulch and beds page explains materials and depth.
Is this different from your property cleanup service?
Seasonal cleanup is routine upkeep for a yard that's lived in and maintained. Property cleanup is for heavier jobs, like a lot that's been neglected for years or a home being prepared after a move. We'll tell you which one fits after the walkthrough.
Do I need to be home?
No. As long as we can reach the yard and any gates are unlocked, the crew can work while you're out. We'll send photos of the finished areas and call with anything you should know.
